- Since 2003, Irish medical volunteers have participated on Operation Smile missions to Belarus, China, Ethiopia, India, Jordan, Kenya, Morocco and Russia.
- Operation Smile Ireland became a registered charity in May 2004 (Charity Registration No. CHY 15661).
- In 2004, Operation Ireland held its Inaugural Fundraising Dinner in Dublin and raised more than €100,000.
- In 2005, 15 Irish medical professionals volunteered on six international medical missions to Belarus, China, India, Jordan, Kenya, Morocco.
- In 2005, Operation Smile Ireland purchased two anesthesia monitors for Operation Smile Morocco enabling its medical volunteers to conduct more local missions.
- In 2005, Operation Smile Ireland helped sponsor a Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) training program for the Operation Smile Mission in Kenya.
- In 2005, Operation Smile Ireland directed funds for infrastructure development of Operation Smile Jordan and Operation Smile Egypt.
- In 2005, Operation Smile Ireland's first audited accounts were completed for 30/6/2005 and approved by independent auditor, Liam Hession,Horwath Charlton & Bastow
- Operation Smile Ireland is proud to have the voluntary time of its executive director and to also have all office, phone, and infrastructure costs donated by Branigan Cosgrove Finnegan, Solicitors.
- Operation Smile Ireland is able to leverage every 1 donated into 6 in programme support.
- It takes as little as 45 minutes and costs approximately 240 for an Operation Smile cleft lip surgery to change a child's life.
- A contribution of 750 or greater will support not only the surgical cost for one child but also the crucial medical training and education for each country that is the hallmark of Operation Smile.
